Polyacrylamide Series

High-Performance Polymer for Flocculation & Water Treatment

A versatile polyacrylamide polymer that efficiently promotes flocculation, solid–liquid separation

Introduction

PAM (Polyacrylamide) is a water-soluble synthetic polymer available in anionic, cationic and non-ionic grades. Its high molecular weight and ability to interact with suspended particles make it highly effective as a flocculant, coagulant aid and filtration polymer. By bringing fine particles together into larger, easily separable flocs, PAM improves clarification, sedimentation and dewatering efficiency.

Usage

PAM is used to:

  • Promote flocculation and rapid settling of suspended solids.
  • Improve solid–liquid separation and clarification.
  • Enhance sludge dewatering and filtration.
  • Reduce turbidity and suspended solids in treated water.
  • Improve recovery of valuable solids in mineral-processing operations.
  • Reduce water consumption by improving process-water recycling.

Practical Industry Applications

1. Municipal Wastewater Treatment: Used for primary and secondary clarification, sludge thickening and mechanical sludge dewatering.

2. Industrial Effluent Treatment: Applied in chemical, textile, pharmaceutical, food-processing and other industries to remove suspended solids and improve wastewater clarification.

3. Mining & Mineral Processing: Used for ore beneficiation, tailings thickening, sedimentation and recovery of process water.

4. Coal Washing: Helps separate fine coal particles from water and improves clarification and solids recovery.

5. Paper & Pulp: Used as a retention and drainage aid, flocculant and process-water treatment polymer.

6. Oil & Gas: Applied in produced-water treatment, solids separation and enhanced oil recovery applications, depending on polymer grade and reservoir conditions.

7. Construction & Civil Engineering: Used for slurry dewatering, excavation-water treatment and erosion/sediment control.

8. Agriculture & Soil Management: Selected PAM grades can be used for erosion control, irrigation-water management and reducing soil particle loss.

In practical terms, PAM is a versatile separation polymer that converts difficult-to-settle fine particles into manageable flocs, making water clarification, sludge dewatering and solids recovery faster and more efficient.
